Connie Sellors

A community pharmacist in Hamilton, Connie has dedicated much of her career to practice research. She is a faculty member with the University of Toronto and McMaster University. In 1996 Connie completed a study evaluating the benefit of pharmacist consultation in a medical clinic. The success of that led to the Seniors Medication Assessment Research Trial (SMART), a large scale project demonstrating the potential of placing a pharmacist in the family physician office. Connie has also served as the project manager for Just Checking: Am I Getting the Most from My Medication, a tool developed by the CPhA that is now used nationwide by pharmacists to assess and resolve seniors’ medication related issues. Connie was the recipient of the Ontario Pharmacist’s Association Pharmacist of the Year Award in 1996 and the CPhA Innovative Practice Award in 2002.
