Sherry Hertz

Sherry, Director of Programs at OPA, demonstrated leadership and dedication in moving forward the Ontario Clinical Tobacco Intervention Program - a collaborative effort of the OPA, Ontario Medical Association, and the Ontario Dental Association. This resulted in over 2000 Ontario pharmacists using a 2-5 minute intervention based on an evidence-based strategy. Over 13,000 copies of handout material was distributed to patients. Sherry has also been involved in other health promotion activities including awareness of the West Nile Virus and the use of insect repellants, the involvement in the Be MedWise campaign and Seniors Safe Medication Program. She received the CPhA Patient Care Achievement Award for Health Promotion in 2005.
