Brigadier General Helmer

Death Year : 1920

Mr. Helmer graduated from OCP in 1885 and was licensed in pharmacy in Quebec (1886). Mr. Helmer operated a pharmacy in Hull (1886-1904) and served on the town council for 10 years. He was mayor from 1896-1900. Mr. Helmer joined the military in 1904, active in rifle shooting. He acted as adjutant to the Bisley Team in 1899, and the Palmer Trophy team in 1901, 1902, and 1908. He became the Director General of Musketry in Canadian Militia in 1909. Died January 31, 1920. (From CPJ obituary Feb 1920 p.316)
