Rashna Batliwalla

Rashna participated in a medical family practice group to develop a family practice-pharmacist practice model. They became efficient with medication reviews, how to handle uncertainty with diagnoses, and drug related problems. This change in roles was dramatic and the team showed initiative and courage in developing a new model of practice. The IMPACT (Integrating Family Medicine and Pharmacy to Advance Primary Care Therapeutics) program has the potential to be applied to diverse health care settings across Canada. Rashna was the recipient of the CPhA Patient Care Achievement Award for Innovation in 2005.
